The Government of India have decided to reconstitute the Cotton Advisory Board originally set up in October, 1958 and subsequently reconstituted from time to time.

2. The Board will advise the Government generally on matters pertaining to production, consumption and marketing of Cotton including matters within the purview of the Cotton Control Order, 1986 and also provide a forum for liaison between the Cotton Textile Mill Industry, the Cotton growers, the Cotton Trade and the Government. 

3. The members of the reconstituted Board will serve on the Board upto 18th May, 2001.

4. The Non-official members will be allowed TA/DA for attending the meetings of the Board in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Finance.

5. The attendance in the meeting of the Board is restricted to the members only.
